Absorb the Volatile, Radioactive Compound Within the Petri Dish

The disposable charcoal disks are made of filter paper, impregnated with activated charcoal and sterilized. Before metabolic labeling, the disk is placed in the top side of the 100mm Petri dish lid. After the addition of the 35S - labeled amino acids to the cell culture fluid, the Petri dish is covered with the lid-containing the activated charcoal disk. The volatile radioactive compounds generated during the metabolic labeling are absorbed into the charcoal disk. Dynamic Duo! Combine the Charcoal Disks with the Charcoal Cartridges, 60-135570000. Place the Cartridges on the incubator shelves to trap volatile radioactivity that might have escaped from Petri dishes equipped with Charcoal Disks.
