For the optimum visualization of agarose or polyacrylamide gels, ScienceLab offers the UVItec range of ultraviolet transilluminators. All models are of superb quality with stainless steel filter frames that are resistant to chemicals and scratching.

Mini units have a small footprint of 34 x 26 cm while standard units have a footprint of 47 x 33 cm. Filter sizes of 15 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm and 21 x 26 cm are available for mini units while standard unit filters can be up to 20 x 40 cm.
In addition, the STX models offer the following features:

  • Rapid, switch-on tubes
  • 'Flicker-free' during use
  • Universal voltage compliance (100-240V)
  • Dual intensity (70/100%) as standard
  • Reduced heat generation (avoids gel damage)

Highest performance
The highly polished ‘ondulex’ reflectors positioned behind the UV tubes give the highest possible efficiency of UV output, superior to that achieved by plain aluminum. The filter material is also chosen for maximum transmission of the chosen wavelength range as well as long life usage (unlimited at 365 and 312nm). An adjustable UV blocking cover is included to protect the user from harmful UV.

Facilitates gel handling
The transfer and positioning of wet gels onto the transilluminator surface is facilitated by the smooth, scratch resistant stainless steel filter frame and the highly polished filter surface. The angle-adjustable UV blocking cover offers hands-free protection to users from the harmful UV rays.
