Beta emissions of ³²P, ³⁵S, ³H and ¹⁴C can be effectively blocked by 10mm thick optical acrylic. All Jencons-PLS Beta shielding is manufactured from heavy gauge 10mm thick acrylic.

Where shielding is required for protection against Gamma emissions of [¹²⁵I] Iodine and other Gamma emitters of lesser energy, a 12mm thick lead acrylic is required. This is the heavy gauge lead acrylic Jencons-PLS uses for its Gamma shielding products.

Dual Angle Radiation Safety Shields

Clear acrylic shield for work requiring standing observation. Shields with large base for under bench protection and with curved base for use with our safety containment trays. A 3-sided shield can be used in conjunction with the Beta shields providing further protection.
